Custom domains

By default a code lives on the shared short domain (https://tap2u.link). A custom domain puts it on qr.yourbrand.com instead · your name on the pack, and codes whose address you control even if you one day leave.

Connecting one

  1. Add the hostname in Dashboard → Domains. Subdomains are the normal shape (qr.yourbrand.com, go.yourbrand.com).
  2. Point a CNAME at the target shown on that screen. Nothing else about your DNS changes; your website is untouched.
  3. Verify. The check reports exactly where it stands · no record yet · wrong target · propagating · active · and DNS proving control is the gate: no hostname is provisioned on our edge before it passes.
  4. Create links with domain set (or pick it in the create modal). Slugs are unique per domain, so /menu can exist on every brand you run. TLS is issued and renewed automatically.

Slots and pricing

How many domains a workspace can hold comes with the credit pack: the business packs include one or two free slots, and every pack can buy extra slots at 20,000 credits, once · one-time, not yearly. The incumbents charge roughly $420–$2000 per domain per year; ours does not recur, and you can do that arithmetic yourself on the pricing page.

  • Agency setups share the parent's quota across client workspaces; free slots are assigned oldest-active-first across the billing tree.
  • If a wallet fully lapses, domains are released · but the record is kept, so a returning customer reclaims the same hostname rather than losing it to a stranger.
  • GS1 note: your own domain is the production path for GS1 Digital Link · the hostname is the tenant signal, so no shared-host claim is needed there, and the licence check still runs.
