The rate card

Nothing is rented.
You buy scans, not access.

a scan1 credit
creating a code1 credit, once
changing a routing rule5 credits · add, edit or remove
rescuing a printed code50 credits, once · then watched daily
checking a printed GS1 code5 credits · reading it is free
a smart page200 credits, once · its scans bill 2 credits
your own domain40,000 credits, once · not every year
static QR codesfree · in your browser · no account · only the link you encode is checked
  • 1 credit is about $0.0006 on the Volume pack. 100,000 serialized codes is about $61.46.
  • The platforms that advertise "unlimited" cap you at somewhere between 3 and 50 codes at any price.
  • A static code cannot be re-pointed or measured. That is the honest trade.
  • Smart-page and section-page scans (Experience templates bill the section rate) are the only exceptions to 1 credit = 1 scan in this product. We ratified both in public.

Not shipped

Things this page
could have claimed.

Every feature page lists what its product has. This is what ours does not. If you need one of these, we are the wrong tool, and the cheapest moment for both of us to find that out is now.

  • Data Matrix. We emit QR and the linear symbologies (GS1-128, EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, ITF-14); healthcare largely uses Data Matrix and we do not.
  • ISO 15415 print grading.
  • EPCIS event trails.
  • Routing on live external data, like weather or stock levels.
  • Apple and Google Wallet passes.
  • Ready-made n8n and Zapier templates. Raw webhooks ship; the templates do not.
  • An SLA, or any support response time. Support is quoted separately, not bundled.

The business model

They don't sell you QR codes.
They sell you the fear of stopping.

A dynamic QR code does not contain your address. It contains theirs. Stop paying and the redirect stops resolving. Not the next code you make. The fifty thousand cartons already in the warehouse.

  • balance hits zero · grace runs 14 days or 5% of your last pack, whichever ends first
  • after that · codes pause. slugs never recycled. scans keep the account alive.
  • you top up · the same URLs resolve again. same printed code.

The obvious objection, which is that we are also a vendor

Correct. tap2u.link is our domain, and a code pointing at it depends on us.

  • a custom domain you own, on every pack, so the print carries your hostname
  • links pause, slugs never recycle, scans keep you alive
  • the terms are written down and specific, not implied by a value on a page · the pledge →

Your domain

$24.58 to $153.85. Once.
Not every year.

Point a subdomain you already own at us with one CNAME. We run the certificate and the routing. There is no white-label fee, and we never supply the domain.

PackA domain costsFree
Starter$153.85·
Basic$100.00·
Pro$86.81·
Growth$59.601
Scale$36.802
Volume$24.582

Elsewhere: $420 to $2,000 per domain per year, every year.

Credits are dearest in the smallest pack. A domain slot is $153.85 on Starter and $59.60 on Growth, which includes one free and leaves you 100,000 scans. If you want a branded code, buy Growth. We would rather tell you which pack to buy than lock the feature and let you find the wall after you have paid.

Analytics

Retention isn't a tier.
It's just your history.

90 days live, all 20 dimensions. Then daily history, for the life of the account. Every pack. The trial too.

  • unique visitors estimated without a cookie, so no consent banner. Because they are estimates rather than exact counts, we label them as estimates.
  • bot scans counted, flagged and shown separately, never quietly folded into your numbers

Typical subscription retention ladder

30–180 days

taproute, every pack, including the trial

the life of the account

One honest limit: the rollup keeps workspace-level dimensions, so folder filtering and A/B variant breakdown only reach back 90 days. Past that the dashboard hides those two controls rather than showing you a confident zero.

Routing

One code.
Every answer.

if country in (IL, US) → /he/menu
else → /en/menu

Resolved from the edge datacenter that took the scan. No lookup.

50 nodes · 20 branches · 5 credits per rule changed · the same scan always takes the same path, so what you drew and what runs cannot drift apart

  • password gate, rendered at the edge, carrying your UTM and GS1 parameters through it
  • scan caps, for the first 500 people rather than everyone
  • hard expiry, which beats every other rule
  • a verified-brand preview, for scanners who want to see where they are going

Pages

Share a link.
Or print a code.

A hosted page we render at the edge, with no website behind it and nothing to deploy: your links, your menu, your profile, your booking form. It lives at a short URL you can put in a bio, a DM or an email signature. A QR code is one way in, not the only one. Same page either way, and the same analytics behind both.

53 block types · 162 templates · 40 skins · 24 font pairings, Hebrew included

Link-in-bio platforms sell everyone the same list and then charge every month for the themes worth having. Every theme here is free on every pack, and there is no month.

Or start from a brief: describe your business and taproute drafts a section page from typed blocks on our renderer, never raw HTML. You edit everything before anything goes live. Priced on the rate card above; there is a replay of a real draft on the homepage.

Unlock a smart page and every block on it gets its own conditions: country · language · device · day of the week · a time window · the visitor's timezone · a fixed start and end. The lunch menu and the wine list on one page, deciding which of them you are looking at when you open it.

  • rendered at the edge, so it answers as fast as the redirect does
  • smart pages and section pages (including our Experience templates) are one-time unlocks whose scans bill extra · the two published exceptions to 1 credit = 1 scan, priced on the rate card above

Questions

Is anything actually gated by plan?

No feature. Every capability in the table runs on every pack, including the 7-day trial. Two things scale with the pack you bought, and both are rows in that table: how many scans your credits cover, and how many custom hostnames you can hold. Support is sold separately, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Can I use my own domain on the cheapest pack?

Yes. A domain is a matter of credits, not of tier: any pack holds one as a one-time 40,000-credit slot. Credits are dearest in the smallest pack, so that slot is $153.85 on Starter and $59.60 on Growth, which includes one free. If you want a branded code, buy Growth.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing you printed breaks. There is no subscription to lapse and no card on file, so we cannot switch anything off to get your attention. When your balance reaches zero a grace period runs for 14 days or 5% of your last pack, whichever ends first. After that codes pause. They are never deleted, the slugs are never recycled, and any top-up brings everything back on the same URLs. A code that is still being scanned keeps your account alive even if you never sign in.

Print it once.
Trust it forever.
