Questions, answered
Do credits expire?
Purchased credits are valid for 12 months, and any new pack, even the $8 one, renews your entire balance for another 12 months. We email you 30 days before anything expires. The 500 free scans you get at signup are a trial and run out after 7 days.
Why 12 months and not forever?
Because a credit is our promise to serve a scan at whatever it costs us to serve it, and those costs move. Pricing a promise we would have to honour a decade from now would mean charging you more today. Twelve months is the horizon we can price honestly, and any purchase renews your whole balance.
What happens when my balance hits zero?
On a paid account a grace period kicks in and we warn you before it does: your codes keep redirecting through the grace window, and worst case they pause until you top up. Your codes and data are never deleted; they resume the moment you buy credits. On a trial account there is no grace window: when the 500 scans are gone, codes pause until you buy a pack.
How much does a custom domain cost?
Custom domains are a business-tier feature: one is included with every pack from Growth ($129) up, and Scale and Volume include two. You connect a domain you already own with one CNAME record and we run the SSL and routing, no white-label fee. The same feature costs $420–2,000 per domain per year elsewhere. Need more? Each extra domain is a prepaid $49/year slot paid from your credits, up to your pack’s cap (Growth 3 · Scale 10 · Volume 25; more than 25 is quoted), so a repeat buyer just adds the next one as a slot. A slot that can’t be covered pauses; it is never billed. Entry, Starter and Standard run on the shared taproute domain only.
Why do AI features cost different credit amounts on different packs?
Because they are priced in dollars, not credits. A credit from a small pack costs more cash than one from a big pack, so a flat credit price would quietly charge small customers several times more for the identical feature. Instead, extras like AI art ($0.40) are converted to credits at your own wallet’s rate, so every pack pays the same cash for the same thing. Scans are exempt: 1 credit = 1 scan, guaranteed forever.
Is there a subscription I need to cancel?
No. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no card on file unless you choose to buy again. Prepaid credits are the entire model.
