Credits & billing
There is no subscription and nothing is behind a plan. You buy credits in one-time packs, everything metered costs a flat number of them at every pack size, and 1 credit = 1 scan. Pack prices live on the pricing page; this page is the mechanics.
The rate card
| Metered thing | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A scan | 1 credit | the unit everything else is priced in |
| Creating a dynamic code | 1 credit | draft to published · drafts are free |
| Changing a routing rule or flow condition | 5 credits | every change · adding, editing and removing all bill · a save that changes nothing is free, and nothing is refunded |
| Claiming a printed code | 50 credits, once | per printed address · buys the daily check that it still reaches you, forever |
| A GS1 catalogue item | 200 credits | once per product · the one exception to the 1-credit code rule |
| A GS1 serial | 1 credit | the ordinary code rate · re-deriving a batch is free |
| Checking a printed GS1 code | 5 credits | reading it and checking it against the standard is free · this is the catalogue check and the live resolve |
| Smart page unlock | 200 credits, once | per page · its scans then bill 2 credits |
| A smart-page scan | 2 credits | one of the two published exceptions to 1 credit = 1 scan |
| Section page unlock (build your own layout) | 400 credits, once | per page · its scans then bill 2 credits |
| A section-page scan | 2 credits | the other published exception · a page that is smart AND sectioned bills 3 |
| Experience template unlock | 800 credits, once | per page, at first publish · picking and drafting are free · includes the section unlock |
| An Experience-template scan | 2 credits | an Experience page is a section page, so this is the section rate · not a third exception |
| AI art for a code | 400 credits | two variants per generation |
| An AI concierge message | 50 credits | the chat block on hosted pages |
| Custom code block | 1 credit | the html block on hosted pages |
| A captured lead | 5 credits | the form block on hosted pages · never refused, even at a zero balance |
| An extra domain slot | 40,000 credits, once | one-time · theirs recurs yearly |
Reading your own data is never billable: exports, analytics, GS1 carriers, verification,
wallet checks and every GET are free.
How the wallet behaves
- Validity · credits live 18 months. Any new purchase re-extends every unexpired credit you hold, and you get a warning 30 days before anything lapses.
- Trying it · signup grants 30 credits for 7 days, no card, spendable on anything.
- Grace · at zero, codes do not stop mid-campaign: scans keep resolving for 14 days or 5% of your top-up rate, whichever runs out first. Past grace, scanners see a paused page (never a 404) and everything resumes the moment you top up.
- Auto-refill · optional: when the balance crosses the floor we email you a one-click refill link. We hold no charging authority, so nothing is ever bought automatically.
- Charge-then-refund · every metered action debits before the write and
refunds if the write fails. A short wallet gets HTTP
402up front; nothing is done now and invoiced later. - Rate limits scale with packs · hourly link-creation caps rise with the
packs you have bought; hitting one is a
429, and the CSV importer resumes rather than double-minting. - Agencies · client workspaces spend the parent wallet, per-client budget caps included.
