Home Dynamic QR vs qr-code-generator.com
No Cap On Codes, No Clock On Them
How many codes you may hold and the day they switch off are not things a printed code should depend on.
Wash House puts one vinyl sticker on every machine door, printed by the machine supplier. Changing it means visiting every site with a heat gun, and the person scanning it is standing in front of the machine holding a bag of wet laundry.
The rule engine
What the scanner gets
External destination
https://apps.apple.com/app/example
This branch leaves for a page somebody else owns, so there is nothing of ours to show.
Straight to the store listing. No splash page asking somebody in a laundrette which phone they are holding.
Desktop is matched positively against known desktop platforms rather than inferred from the absence of a phone, so an unknown agent falls through to the default. Two of these branches leave for an app store, which is somebody else page and is shown as one.
Get this wrong and an Android customer at the machine lands on an App Store page telling them the app is unavailable. The vinyl is already on the door; the rule is the only part still editable.
no subscription · pay per scan · nothing to cancel
Two counters, and the code stops at either one
On qr-code-generator.com a dynamic code lives inside two limits at once: a plan tier that says how many dynamic codes the account may hold, and a trial or subscription calendar that says how long they redirect. Its own help centre states that every dynamic code made during the 14-day trial is deactivated when the trial ends, and that a scan of a deactivated code lands on a service page instead of the destination. The artwork does not know either counter exists.
- A third menu code on a plan that holds two, so one of them has to go before the third can exist.
- Trial codes printed on a flyer run, switched off on day fifteen with the flyers already handed out.
- A subscription that renews on its own, with a cancellation window that closes thirty days before it does.
- Reactivation that runs through an upgrade rather than a top-up, so the price of getting a code back is a plan.
What a code costs here, and what it never costs
Three rules instead of two counters.
A code costs 1 credit, once
The hundredth code costs the same as the first, and no tier decides whether it may exist. Codes come out of your balance, not out of an allowance.
create 1 credit · scan 1 creditNothing switches a code off on a date
There is no trial that ends and no subscription that lapses. The only thing that can pause a code is a balance at zero, after a grace window of 14 days or scans worth 5% of your last top-up, whichever ends first.
A pause ends with a top-up, not an upgrade
Top up and the same printed code resumes at the same address. There is no plan to move to and nothing to reactivate by hand, because nothing was deleted or reassigned.
What you get instead of a tier
- As many codes as your balance covers
Two codes or two thousand is a question of credits, never of plan. 1 credit each, and no cap to upgrade past.
- No trial clock on printed codes
Signup comes with 30 free credits valid for 7 days. When they run out a code pauses rather than being deactivated, and any top-up resumes it at the same address.
- Nothing to cancel
no card on fileCredits are prepaid. There is no renewal date, no notice period and no contract period to wait out.
- Destination edits are free
Repointing a printed code costs nothing and is not counted, on any pack.
- Every feature on every pack
Routing flows, hosted pages, analytics, custom domains, API and MCP are on every pack. Packs differ in credits and included headroom, never in permission.
- Cookie-free measurement
Scans are counted at the edge and unique visitors are estimated with a daily sketch, so the scan path carries no consent banner.

Questions
Does qr-code-generator.com really switch off codes when the trial ends?
Its help centre says so in plain words, read on 2026-09-16: dynamic codes created during the 14-day trial are deactivated when it ends, and a scan of a deactivated code lands on a service page. Static codes keep working. Check the live article before relying on it, because vendor pages change.
How many dynamic codes can I hold here?
As many as your balance pays for at 1 credit each. There is no plan tier that caps the count, so a third code never means deleting a second one.
Can a code here be switched off too?
It can pause, and we say so plainly. At zero balance a code gets a grace window of 14 days or scans worth 5% of your last top-up, then serves a paused page. Nothing is deleted or reassigned, and any top-up resumes the same printed code.
Where is QRCG the better choice?
At sustained high volume on a few codes: its Advanced and Professional plans include unlimited scans, and per-scan pricing loses to a flat plan somewhere around two thousand scans a month on one code. Its trial is also longer than ours. This page is about what a printed code depends on, not about which product is cheaper for every workload.
I have QRCG codes already printed. Can they move?
The printed pattern names their domain and cannot be edited. While the account still redirects, you can often repoint each code at a taproute URL from inside their dashboard, which bridges every future scan without a reprint. Our free checker tells you in one screen whether a specific code qualifies.
What runs out here, if not a plan?
Credits. They are valid 18 months from purchase, and any top-up rolls the whole balance forward. A single very high-volume code can cost more here than a flat plan, which is the trade the model makes.
